Not very Christmassy but still...
Could not resist discussing this. I recently had a conversation with a male friend of mine (best he remain anonymous) who made a very interesting point about female and male nudity in film and television. He argues women are rarely naked on the screen because you never actually see their vagina. All that is exposed (aside from breasts and butt) is well, bush. He contends that the pubic hair is not their vagina. For men however, should their lower body be exposed there would be no mistaking the penis in full view. Their parts are not "hidden" and so are less often "nude" in film. This separation of pubic hair and body parts is interesting. I never considered it. Could it be? In consideration, there is no sensation in the lower abdomen area. Seeing pubic hair has no real enticement ( to those without a fetish) At the edge of the area begins the vagina but that is quickly swept between the legs where it can be protected in a sense hidden. It is even hidden from some women in many cases, imagine your most sexual, pleasurable body part hidden even from yourself! So the questions are: are men shown less in the buff because you can see their body part without trimmers? Are pubic hair part in parcel of the vagina? Do you have the same reactions if someone saw your bush as you would if they saw between your legs? I haven't concluded..practically it makes sense. The goods are a bit further down but ...are we drawing lines in the sand here? A naked woman is still naked even if you can't see her who-ha. If that is so then are men really stimulated by a naked woman or just the edited version of her without full frontal exposure? Are we back to the ideal again? The woman without her womanhood? Ignoring the power beneath the foliage?

Some of the greatest humanitarian discoveries can be found right under our noses. To find the real will of people you need only to ask around. We have created a social world, one that allows us to interact with each other everyday and most days this gives us only frustration. But if you take the time to know the woman in front of you in line or the man who opened the door for you, you may just be surprised at how much you have in common. This is not in reference to the things you or they may have. I am talking about the real humanness that is within us all. And what I learned today is what a great country to live in where we can share that humanness, that struggle together.
Feminist, Republican, Christian, Muslim, Democrat, Mexican, are titles not lives. These are the identities we must break away from. Because in this country we know struggle but we also know life, a good life. There are places, people, homes, jobs, and the like for those who are hungry. There is life in the hunger and life in the giving. Ultimately we can each give, we live in a country where you can help. The option to do so is the good life. There are people in many other places who can not help one another. They bear witness to the deaths of life. They must watch others become sick, killed, starved, raped, abused without the choice. It can come down to food or work. Many who without either will simply die. Here, in this great country, we have the choice because we have created the means. We can care about one another, we can help. We can make that choice to act. A person's complacency with their life is not a judgment to use against them. We all know complacency. Help whenever and where ever you can because in this country we are fortunate enough to be able to do so. Merry Christmas

Get the feeling
So the second in command sends out a video slandering our new President elect. He uses racist language and a threatening tone. I was informed this by someone who did not vote for Senator Obama and the feeling I received was much like a "see, told you so- they are going to test us". I originally responded by saying we have been tested (9/11) and our response to that over the last 8 years, has not been so great. We should give our new President the benefit of the doubt that he will be able to react and respond appropriately. This person then went on to say,"yeah, and he wanted to sit down with them!" Which we all know to not be the case. There never was any insinuation that he would sit down with terrorist organizations that bombed our country and have a chat. However, in retrospect the exchange really convoluted a basic problem in this country. One of which I have never felt a part of. The R-word, racism. A known terrorist taped and distributed a video of himself throwing racial epithets at our newly elected President and initially this did not make me angry. I can come up with many "reasons" I did not react instantly. I will spare you. The fact is I should have been immediately angered by someone racially slandering my President. Unfortunately it took me some time to understand what this means and to accept it. Now, I am angry. First, at myself for not defending my President. Next, at the surrounding environment that has created and supports general racist behaviour, so much so that I am unaware of its glaring presence in this circumstance, and lastly at the soulless murderer on the video tape. We should all take offense, we should all demand respect be shown, we should all forbid what is growing in mindless banter regarding race and separatism. If there is to be any hope for healing this divide we must be offended together, be respectful together, and defend what this great country has recently done. This is not a matter of policy or character, this is a matter of skin color and we should unite as the country this terrorist is insulting; not observe the struggle from afar. If President elect Obama is tested- we are tested. Let us unite in preparation and support of our President and sharpen our perceptions so that we stand on the side of the American ideals. Freedom for all don't we deserve to give that to ourselves and each other?

Art and all of the above
"The beginning and end of all literary and artistic activity is the reproduction of the world that surrounds me by means of the world that is in me, all things being grasped, related, re-created, molded, and reconstructed in a personal form and an original manner." -Goethe

Weapon Sales
Afternoon Chew
Gun sales are up 30 fold since the election. The nation has never seen such a spike in the purchase of firearms. I think it is so we can all protect ourselves from the crazy moose hunters and disgruntled Republicans. At least I hope so.

Gotta love this girl!
Ahh yes...This season draws what is left out of our pocket books in demonstration of the spirit of giving. As I searched for the right gift to get cheap and early I stumbled upon the famous princess who sings with such grace. Isn't marketing telling these days. Read the slogin:
"Her bed folds up into a throne!"
She is even more perfect than I imagined.
A full embodiment of feminine power!

Employment Oppertunities
Employment Opportunity?
Tonight I discovered my Superior, by professional position, admires someone I can not possibly comprehend. She is a supporter of a political woman that I can only comprehend in abstract terms. This person is unassociated, manic, zealous, and undone. She is a women against her own kind. Her pastor conducted a literal witch hunt in an African town. He convinced an entire town that this women was conducting witch craft and was run out of town. Not close to the next Wal-mart but into the African desert. This woman credits most her Governorial success to this man. Her family pictures with bloody moose and wolves running for their lives on home video doesn't strike a familial cord with me. The proclaimed shred toughness she possess is contrary to her lack of character when faced with a real situation to stand up. People at her rallies are yelling violent proclamations yet she would say "he pals around with terrorists" again. Any person that allows themselves to be referred to as some kind of hero for deciding to keep her special needs child doesn't even know the meaning of being a mother. Her willingness to subject any women, especially those who have undergone horrendous acts, to a circumstance without choices doesn't know the meaning of being ones own woman. And so tonight my "superior" stated her support of this woman. All I can ask myself is why? What did you miss in your life that made you wander so far into the woods? I have only been a woman in this American life during this American time and if this is teach me anything it was going to teach me how to appreciate what can finally be mine, free individualty Choice is our only freedom. Do I choose to continue employment?

Morning talk-walk
Good morning all,
The debate last night gave us some perspective on each candidate. Joe Biden was full of substance and detail. Sarah Palin had good responses about votes that should could not have known without being prepped. That info has proven false but for the sake of debate were used appropriately. Here is where I am disappointed. The second female nomination had to use the only VP debate to demonstrate basic human competence. Then blame the gaffs on the media. Katie Curic is not one for hard ball interviews. She and Charlie Gibson asked relevant straightforward questions. Sarah Palin's own mistakes ignited the ridicule. A powerful woman does not hide behind mistakes. A powerful woman does not take the prestigious opportunity of the VP debate to merely prove she is coherent. I want a woman in the White House. Someone that has to prove her stance and leadership, not her competence.

Ill
As I consider the day from this 1 o'clock perspective it seems an early talk-walk is a lofty goal. I intend to aim this high so long as I remain illness free, difficult to guarantee with this evenings debate approaching.

Morning talk-walk
I considered the efforts of war and the associated notions of protection as I walked this morning. Are wars fought for all the citizens rights it claims to be protecting? Or the vast abstraction that some other male dominate culture (worse in its oppressive behavior) is trying to take control of the current one we have. In this context what is the definition of "rights" exactly? Our rights (as Americans) are not those of the most basic humanitarian freedoms. Women can not walk safely alone at night, children can not go safely to church; to name just a glaring few. The fact that these freedoms, along with others, may not exist elsewhere should not console us into acceptance and inaction of our current cultural institution. While we support our troops and our nation, make no mistake that we should question what "rights" are being given and protected to keep us consoled and more importantly docile.

VP Debate
The debate is Thursday. These two people may have the honor
of being President. Are they capable?

Up and Coming
Hello All
Wanted to give everyone somethings to think about.
First thing: Are you thinking?
Second thing: Are you sure?
Thrid thing: Stoping questioning yourself..
Fourth thing: Start thinking again.
Annoying when someone questions your intelligence, ain't it?
It is happening all day, everyday.
Think about it.
